Injustice only can be permitted for so long until the oppressed rise up. The question is will the uprising be a peaceful demonstration under the banner of Civil Disobedience or will it come under the heavy hand of a quasi militant group who fights fire with fire.
There is no easy answer. There is no quick answer. Change takes time; but, in the process their are a multitude of emotional and physical fatalities. If we all took the advice of Gandhi and became the change we wanted to see, we would end at the desired goal much quicker. Sadly, this is not a likely scenario– so what is?
We are a society of laws. If we are to respect the laws, those laws must be just and fair to all. Until this changes, anarchy, brutality and chaos will reign supreme.
We are a society with checks and balances. When those who are set to uphold the law, break the law– we have to hold our executive, judicial, and legislative branches fully accountable. This should also hold tight with our state and local officials.
Discipline does not have to be inhumane, but it should be swift and hold the ability to transform the transgressors into more of a model citizen. When the local citizenry transgress, the standards should be the same.
From a proactive standpoint, we have to teach out young people acceptance, love and tolerance. Out schools should be overflowing with matters that stress interpersonal skill development, peaceful conflict resolution, and exposing them to “others” early and often.
There is no panacea anyone can provide with immediate and swift results. Now, we have to bottle our anger and let it explode on the tyranny of evil. This is road that has many different lanes. We must change policy. We must demonstrate peacefully. We must come to the table with the oppressor. But, we must also use all other tools available. In the history of the world there has never been significant change without a revolt. And, I know of no revolt that was free of bloodshed. There is a time for peace and war. For effective change, we must be able to discern which is right at what time.
Beloved, we have issues. These issues will joy solve themselves. They will not be easy to change. However, if those who can make a difference are too indifferent or afraid- the situation will remain the same. In fact, it will slowly, maybe quickly, decompensate.
We want injustice to change to justice? What are we willing to sacrifice, my loved ones? What is that- afraid to spill blood and die? Well, they are shedding it for no reason anyway. If I am going to die- I want a beautiful death like a Greek Spartan, Aztec Warrior, Samurai, or Black Panther.
What is the saying- a coward dies a thousand deaths. A real man but one.
I only plan to die once
