Back Where I Belong
In life, we all get off track. In the bible, a lot of animal metaphors are used to explain daily issues in life. One specific comparison is between the pig and the sheep. The pig is usually associated with filth and unpurity; the sheep with purity, but often with ignornace and helpless.
In life we all can get dirty from time to time; but, the pig lives for the filth. The pig is at home in the filth. The pig longs for the filth. However, the sheep, who is just as apt to get dirty does not like the filth. The sheep is not at home in the filth. The sheep longs to be clean. Though they both are in the filth, they do not have the same comfortability in the filth. Take the pig out and he is upset and will return to the filth immediately. Takle the sheep out and clean it; she is much more happier and at peace.
One can say she is a sheep, but if she is constantly in the filth, you either need to understand you are more pigish than you like to admit or you need a better shepard to protect you from you.
Bottom Line: A pig is lawless. A sheep needs a shepard. You know if you are a pig or a sheep by how you are when you are in the filth and out of the filth. Where do you belong? HINT: where are you at most of the time? where do you exhale- in or out of the filth? We only find comfort in a place of comfortablity and serenity.
Humans are not built to remain in continual filth.
