Moving Cool
It was William Shakespeare who stated “All the world is a stage. All the men and women are merely players. They all have their exists and their entrances. Each with a specific role to play.” This line was more recently told in the movie Idlewild starring the musical group Outkasts.
These lines are not only poetic, but prophetic. We are told that some people come into our life for a season others for a specific reason. It is difficult to lose people in life. It is difficult to accept one who was once so c lose that is no longer as c lose. However, it becomes less difficult when we understand that all the world is a stage and that all the men and women are merely players. They have their exists and entrances. They all have a part or role to play to make us who we are suppose to become.
Instead of dwelling on what is no longer, appreciate what was, appreciate the time shared, apprecate the memories gained, appreciate the lessons learned, appreciate the help given. And, then move on; but, proceed in a cool fashion. That means no bitterness or resentment. No guilt. No complaining. No nothing. Just move, move easy like its Sunday morning.
Bottom Line: If we dwell on the ills of the past we cannot enjoy the greatest gift we have… the present. Yesterday is a cancelled check. Tomorow is a promissory note. Today is the only currency we have. Spend it wisely. Take nothing for granted. Enjoy the people in your life for whatever time you have them. People may not remain with you for a lifetime, but memories do. Cherish those memories. Appreciate what you do have now. And most important, remember, when it is time to move on, move cooly.
